Check Your Jacket Pockets

Putting on last year’s jacket can produce a small inventory of last year’s intentions. A receipt. A forgotten note. Possibly the key you stopped looking for in March. Before the layer becomes part of your daily routine again, give it a quick check. A little preparation can spare an ordinary morning an unnecessary search.
A Small Way to Begin
Empty the pockets and return useful items to a place you can find.
Check the garment for cleaning or minor mending before you depend on it.
Keep only the everyday essentials in the pockets you use most.
Make It Part of the Day
A familiar jacket can feel like the season returning. Make it ready for the life you have now, rather than the errands still stored in the lining. If you find a note you meant to act on, choose its next step. The pocket is not a long-term planning system.
