Stories from the Forge
Cider Is Optional

A season can develop a very specific menu. Suddenly the ordinary cup of coffee appears to need whipped cream, three spices, and an opinion about a syrup. You can enjoy all of it. You can also order what you ordered in July. A tradition works best when it offers an invitation instead of a test.
A Small Way to Begin
Choose one seasonal food or drink you actually look forward to.
Ask someone about their favorite fall meal instead of assuming it matches yours.
Keep a familiar option at gatherings so everyone has something easy to enjoy.
Make It Part of the Day
The useful part is sharing a table or a few minutes of conversation. The contents of the mug can be negotiable. If cider is your thing, enjoy it. If it is not, you can still belong in the picture. Nobody has to earn October through a beverage.
